Since the local people do not eat A. fulica this alien species goes unchecked (Raut & Barker 2002). Impacts:
Agricole: Within a short period of its introduction into the Ivory Coast Achatina fulica had achieved significance as a crop pest (von Stanislaus et al. 1987, in Raut and Barker 2002).
Compétition
Économique/Subsistance: At present there is little economic information on the economic status of Achatina fulica in areas invaded in Africa (Raut & Barker 2002).
