    Phytophthora cinnamomi affects over 22% of the plant species in Western Australia, including the Eucalyptus marginata (jarrah) forests (Jackson et al. 2000).
    The area of vegetation affected by P. cinnamomi in Western Australia exceeds many hundreds of thousands of hectares (Environment Australia, 2001).
