    Species Notes for this Location:
    Acanthocereus tetragonus forms extensive, impenetrable thickets on the site of Bouraké, near Boulouparis, (MacKee, 1994). It is one of the 67 major invasive exotic plant species in New Caledonia (Meyer et al., 2006).
    Management Notes for this Location:
    The fight against this invasive cactus is by chemical weed control in areas accessible by vehicles. In non-accessible areas, chemical control is combined with biological control (currently being tested) with a cochineal (L. Brinon, Province Nord, com pers).
